"People are terrible to the people they love sometimes. They're mean. You were both having a hard time and you took it out on each other. It doesn't make you the worst wife in the world. It just makes you a person who made a mistake."
Season 5 Episode 4. Cristina and Callie move into their new apartment (and out of Burke's place, yay!) with the help of their people, Erica and Meredith. Alex still isn't speaking to Izzie and Meredith comes home to find that Derek, who has moved in, has been rooting around through her mother's things. He finds her diary and Meredith is unsure if she should read it or not, as well as if Derek moving in was a good idea. Erica asks Callie out on a date and Callie accepts. And then spends the entire episode worrying about it, asking Bailey for advice. At first, Bailey has no idea what to say, but in the end she comes through for Callie because she's Bailey and that's what she does.
Cristina is assigned to the clinic where a woman has a skin rash and is sent to dermatology to get some cream. She is enchanted, almost, by what she finds in derm and spends the whole day there daydreaming. In this magical place, one resident is dragging because he got too much sleep and one baked a cake for another one's birthday. They also have fruity drinks.
Meredith is assigned to Hahn's service and they are to operate on a young boy who wants nothing to do with surgery. Cristina pages Mer 911 to derm and Meredith is also fascinated.
Izzie and Alex are assigned to the pit and Izzie treats a man who's wife has thrown the remote at his head. Izzie detects a big 'neuro-thing' and has Graziella page Shepherd, except Alex steals the chart and the patient. When Izzie finds out she is livid and goes to complain to Meredith because Derek doesn't care. Izzie is drawn in to the magic of derm and the three of them spend much of their day on the couch watching the goings on of the department. They wonder if being dermatologists would make them happier.
Eventually George finds them and lays down the law.
He wants to take the little boy, Duncan, into an OR to show him a surgery and he needs Meredith to help him sell the idea to the chief and Hahn. He tells Izzie, who has used the analogy of surgery being like the wild wild west (courtesy of Dr. Sloan) to stake her claim. Izzie uses her people skills to get Mr. Grandy, the patient who ended up with a grapefruit-sized tumor in his head, to request her as the resident on his case. Derek is not happy.
George has spent most of his day worrying about whether he passed his intern-exam (for the second time) or not. Lexie promises to take him out for a drink at Joe's whether he passes or not. When the chief finally gives him the letter, George is ecstatic to find out that he has passed. He tells Lexie that he'll be right back, that he has to go tell Izzie and Meredith.
Next thing you know, he is at Joe's with Izzie, Cristina and Meredith and has left Lexie out in the cold. She comes into Joe's and drinks alone instead of joining them.
Alex is at Joe's alone too. He sort of apologizes to Izzie, saying that since Rebecca isn't there, he has no one else to take it out on. Some apology.
Meredith realizes that Derek does need some space in the house and gives him her mother's old office for his. Derek, in turn, gives Meredith the trailer so she'll have someplace to go.
The episode ends with Meredith and Cristina opening Ellis Grey's journal in the trailer. As the screen pans out, we see that they have put a 'dermatology' sign on the door.

Quotes:
Izzie: Give me back my surgery or I'll shoot your ass off!
Cristina: We are not happy glowy people.
Izzie: Yeah.
Cristina: We need to get out of here.
Meredith: Yeah.
Bailey: In Ethiopia they eat stew out of spongy, sour bread. That's not for everyone!
Alex: I know I'm being an ass. I can't help it. I'm pissed off, all the time. So much so that I'm losing my mind. But you can't be pissed at a crazy chick for losing her mind, so there's nobody else for me to be pissed at. Except you.
Callie: It's awkward because she's a colleague... and because she's an attending... and because she's a she.
Lexie: Hey... You passed. We are going to celebrate. I'm going to buy you a beer, and all the peanuts you can eat.
George: What if I didn't pass?
Lexie: Then ... I'll buy you a beer anyway. Beer for losers.
6 days people!!!!!!!!!!!!
