Sometimes A Fantasy

"I'm dating. And it comes with snacks!"

It's day 3 people! And it just so happens that today's episode is Episode 3 from season 3-Sometimes a Fantasy.

This episode begins with Meredith dreaming about both of her boys. Obviously she's enjoying this whole dating thing. Callie has moved in at this point after the Chief kicked her out of the basement of the hospital and George is not doing very well with the concept. Izzie is still recovering from Denny's death and is planning to go into the hospital. 
Instead, when everyone else goes in, she stays outside just looking at the door. Alex is tired of being on Addison's service and he is in luck when she sends him to the pit for the day. 


Derek asks Meredith out to dinner and then Finn has to settle for lunch at the hospital. 
Cristina is convinced that Burke (after being shot) has quit caring about his therapy for his hand. 
Alex gets a little foster girl (Abigail Breslin who I think is just adorable) who got into a fight at school. This little girl thinks she is a superhero. Alex finds out that Megan has been punched in the stomach 8 times and then been hit in the stomach with a baseball bat to prove to her peers that she's a superhero. In reality she has a chromosomal disorder that causes her not to feel pain. When Megan finds out that she needs surgery she hides. 

Cristina and Derek have a man who needs his brain literally cut in half to stop him from seizing. When the man wakes up, he has difficulty remembering things. Cristina sees that she needs to give Burke time to recover from this and so buys chicken and makes him do 'chicken surgery'.

Alex finds Megan and finds that she doesn't want surgery because she's afraid her foster parents won't want her anymore. She agrees after a little heart-to-heart (surprising from Alex, I know) and Bailey repairs the damage.

While Meredith is on her lunch date with McVet, (Cristina and Alex have a bet that McDreamy will interrupt) McDreamy interrupts with a surgery. Finn tells Meredith to go and then crashes her date with Derek later that night. Basically, Mer freaks out on them both because they seem more into competing with each other than dating her. 

Izzie stood outside the hospital all day and didn't make it in to talk to the chief because the only thing she could think about was weddings.

Addison finally realizes that her marriage is over by now and McSteamy is apparently now staying in seattle (Yay!). 

Callie moves out after George, not so subtly, tells Callie that he isn't ready to live together. The episode ends with Addison, Callie, McSteamy and the Chief all checking in to a hotel. Meredith, Izzie and George end up eating the ice cream from Finn-not exactly what her fantasy was, but a pretty good improvisation.
